Job Description
 
Wyndham Hotel Group is searching for a IT Manager to work at our property in St. Charles, IL.  This position is responsible for providing the technical lead or contact for sessions that occur at the facility. The individual is responsible for ensuring that all technical details are correct for meetings. The individual works closely with Conferencing Planning Managers and clients answering technical questions. This individual will stay abreast of current industry technologies.  The individual serves as a technical lead on the Technology team assisting staff and others with technology-related tasks.
 
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

 

  • Ensure technical meeting-room details are appropriate, correct and details are clear
  • Effectively communicate with Conference Planning Managers, Technology personnel, and other internal teams ensuring a proper understanding of technical details
  • Respond professionally to any and all questions, from both customers and coworkers
  • Proven customer service and problem solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a high stress environment while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with little to no assistance from supervisor.
  • Provide on-site technical support in meeting rooms and guest rooms
  • Perform quality checks on all types of meeting room technology
  • Responsible for company assets within the AV Department.
  • Move, set up, operate and maintain technology equipment.
  • Should possess computer proficiency, including, but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Assist and instruct guests/customers regarding proper usage and operation of technology equipment
  • Prioritizes, logs and tracks all calls and requests through their resolution and completion
  • Researches and resolves technical problems
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic TCP/IP problems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems.
  • Performs all other relevant duties as directed.

Note: Must be able to work weekends and holidays and work a varied schedule that includes days and evenings.
Qualifications
Education & Experience

  • Experience in a hotel or related industry helpful. 2 to 4 years minimum of related experience or a Related Degree/Certification/High school diploma or GED
  • Demonstrates very good communication skills
  • Demonstrates very good attention to technical detail skills
  • Demonstrates very good negotiating skills
  • Demonstrates technology troubleshooting skills, familiarity with Audio/Visual technology a plus
  • Proficiency in Windows, Company-approved spreadsheets and word processing and in the operation of all hotel-specific systems.
  • Experience working with the Delphi Sales and Catering system a plus

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous AV and technical support experience is required.
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
  • Must be able to abide by the company appearance standards and compliance with the designated uniform.
  • Dedicated to exceeding service standards and providing services and standards to the highest caliber.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Must be able to understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.

 

Physical requirements:
  • Long hours sometimes required.(Overtime Eligible Manager) OEM
  • Medium work – Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays and work a varied schedule that includes days and evenings.  Current standard schedule will be Monday through Friday 7am-5pm.  Overtime and shifted schedule may be required when necessary.
